Traveling around the world, working remotely and always being on the go sounds very exiting and adventurous to most people - including myself. But what I realised along the way as well, is that it can often be hard and tiring not having a base, a routine and your friends and family around to support you. Therefore I want to share my top 5 tips on how I set myself up to feel the most comfortable during my travels.

  1. Plan ahead: Before you hit the road, make sure you have a solid plan in place. This includes figuring out your housing situation, transportation, and how you'll make a living. Research different locations and plan out your itinerary. Also, make sure you have all the necessary documents for travel.

  2. Stay connected: One of the biggest challenges of being a nomad is staying connected with friends and family. Make sure you have a reliable phone plan and consider investing in a VPN to keep your online activities secure. Also, make sure you communicate your travel plans with your friends and family so everyone knows that you'll be gone for a longer time and they know what to expect.

  3. Be flexible: Nomadic life can be unpredictable, so it's important to be flexible and go with the flow. Be open to new experiences and don't get too attached to your plans. Be prepared to change direction if something unexpected comes up. Especially when it comes to daly routines...

  4. Be organized: You'll need to be organized in order to keep on top of your work and personal life while on the road. I always use a calendar and to-do list app to stay on top of deadlines, appointments and my daily tasks. I mainly use Notion to organise my tasks and schedule. Keep your documents and important items in a safe and secure place.

  5. Take care of yourself: Living and working as a nomad can be demanding, so it's important to take care of yourself both physically and mentally. Make sure you're getting enough rest, exercise, and healthy food. Take time to relax and unwind, and don't hesitate to seek help if you're struggling. Health insurance is a must for full time travelers and for myself this was a long time kind of difficult, not convenient, or just very expansive. Thanks to SafetyWing I now have the perfect solution being covert anywhere I go for a decent price.

Happy travels!
